Nujobi.com and Economist editor, Gordon Lichfield rally for SOPA ?
Today Nujobi.com as members of the NYC meet-up group received this note from Gideon Lichfield, Media Editor at The Economist. Nujobi.com intends to participate as Mr Lichfield suggests and work towards presenting solutions. Oddly enough Mr Lichfield posted this comment on a meet-up board 3 months ago and it was "snarled up" in their system until today. ....interesting. We called Mr Lichfield and received his approval to post this comment on our blog via a telephone conversation. we feel Nujobi.com is a solution to properly compensating content creators.
Sincerely,
Mark Nejmeh
Nujobi.com
Mr Lichfield presents the SOPA arguments from a very logical viewpoint.
Hello all,
As one who sympathises with the opposition to SOPA/PIPA but, as a journalist covering the media, spends quite a lot of his time talking to people in the content industry who support the bills, I've been thinking about how to get this debate unstuck. It's stuck because, like many debates about deep-seated issues (I'm thinking Israel-Palestine, which I've also covered), it's rapidly become an argument about who is right, rather than about how to move things forward. And to move things forward, I think the onus is on the anti-SOPA crowd. Convinced as it is that these bills are based on an outdated conception of how content should be monetised (I am presuming that that's the implication in Glenn's "Isn't Piracy Missing the Point?" prompt), the anti-SOPA movement spends nearly all its energy on trying to prove its point and not nearly enough on suggesting ways for those whose livelihoods have up to now depended on IP protection to make a living differently. Because, just as the Israel-Palestine conflict is not, at its base, an ideological one about religion or historical rights (those are just layers added by each side to make the argument harder to win) but a power struggle about who gets to live on which piece of land henceforth, the SOPA dispute is not really an ideological one about whether piracy is wrong, but a power struggle about who gets to determine the ways in which people will make money from content henceforth. When we see a resource, we compete over it; it's what we have done since we were bacteria. There is a long-established industry that has an entrenched interest in living off content the old way, and on which many people's livelihoods depend; and there is a rapidly-growing new industry (I use "industry" here broadly: it includes Google and startups and VCs as well as cyber-activists and NGOs) that has a whole bunch of new ways in mind, and on which an increasing number of livelihoods is also coming to depend. And the outcome of SOPA will determine the fortunes of people in these industries.
So both sides are trying to defend the way they earn, or will earn, their living. And there is nothing wrong with doing so; we all need to protect ourselves from poverty. So why do I think the onus is on the anti-SOPA movement? Basically, because it's newer. The IP protectors don't know any other way; change is scary. To win the argument, the opponents of SOPA need to provide convincing alternative routes for musicians, artists, film-makers, and so on to make a living from their content. (There's also the giant ecosystem of publishers, broadcasters, and all the other baggage that depends on the IP model too, but I'll come back to that in a minute.) Sure, we've all heard ideas about how this can happen. Musicians can put out their stuff free online and make money from touring, and film-makers can crowd-fund their movies, and stand-up comedians can upload a DRM-free video and politely ask their fans to pay $5 if they like it and please not share it on Facebook, and all that jazz. But go talk to some of these people. I have. It's not easy for them. It's especially not easy if you've built a career and a life and a home or two doing things the old way. Basically, unless you are a young new artist who is just starting out and is internet-savvy and doesn't have much to lose, or a more established artist who has already built up a big online following and knows just how to exploit it, trying to work in a world where the assumption is that you cannot rely on anyone paying to own a copy of your content is Very Fucking Scary. And even if you think people are wrong, you can't fault them for being scared. So what I would like to see, and I don't know if Code Meet Print is the place to do it (maybe team up with some other related Meetup groups?), is a serious discussion about how to create pathways. An easing of the transition for content creators. Actual, practical methods for making a living from content in an in IP-free world. Success stories and examples to follow. An IP-Free Workshop, if you will. I'm not convinced, at least not yet, that the future is IP-free, by the way; and if it is, this field is still very much in its infancy. But if you're going to talk the talk, you have to show people that the walk can in fact be walked. (An aside: Yes, I'm aware that a lot of people who oppose SOPA don't oppose IP protection per se - they just want to see a more moderate version of the bill. But I'm assuming that at least a proportion of the people on this list are interested in what a world without IP, or with a radically reformed version of it, would look like.) Finally, on the small matter of that IP-protection ecosystem: sure, the driving force of the lobbying for SOPA and PIPA isn't the artists as much as it is the big firms that turn the artists' work into money and keep a large part for themselves. But if your goal is to defeat those firms, you won't do it by telling them again and again that they're greedy dinosaurs. You just need to convince the artists they can live without them. And if that's true, and the artists leave, the rest will happen by itself. There, that's my rant. Reactions welcome.Gideon

Contently.com with 2 million vs. Nujobi.com zero money who will win?
I started playing football when I was about 7 years old.
In HS I was 5'7" and about 210 pounds like a stump. I played pulling guard and I was on the kick-off team. Before the game started I was always pretty nervous. My father would give me his speech about how great he was back in the day which I ignored. My mother would be sensible and say that it seemed like it would be a challenge to hit someone nearly six inches taller than me and be able to knock them down. She wanted me to be realistic and focus on the "how" instead of the woohoaaa. She told me that "for every disadvantage one faces there is an advantage somewhere that one can create". Her idea was that different has its advantages.

Venture Capitalists perform @start-up Circus. Fat man swings!
In the summer of 2010 long before the Occupy (another circus), two 50 year old men in a hand painted van blah blah. Ok Man we discovered that the media was either incompetent or was by agenda ignoring reporting and the fat guy/lady with the live bands on the corner.
We did get lucky with the media twice, but not in the usual manner. We had to actually go undercover and do some investigative reporting on some mining operations. We did get paid a whole $50 for our two week effort and it was these instances of a stubborn media and the first hand example of the journalist marketplace that made Nujobi a business concept.
Reaction by the Venture capitalist was "why would you bring politics into a presentation" at the time I over reacted and got caught up in an arguing frenzy Duh I was supposed to be selling this cat on why he should invest. Instead I acted and told him that I really did not want his investment. It seems that my subconscious despises the state of the current "Death of a salesman" style of the start-up world was coming through. I ain't no Willy Loman.
I guess I do not have much respect for the entire concept of getting up in front of a few men and women and doing a burlesque for your money presentation. At this time with the world economies are in free fall and job creation at it lowest we have a start-up arena that cares more about the pitch than the actual business model. I just do not give value to that process. A venture capitalist mostly uses other peoples money, businesses are first built with sweat and ingenuity. I am guessing that they had to pitch so they are transferring the sales pitch correlating that to what it takes to start and manage a business. Something is very wrong with the VC investment styles if we still are having a jobs crisis.
I am a veteran at running businesses and growing them from scratch. I can tell you that it takes more Steve Jobs than it does a bunch of people that cashed out of their businesses to have the vision of truly creating value. These guys are focused on exit strategy first and societal value added business last. If that is what they truly want then we do not have a marriage made in heaven. I am not stubborn I am smart and I know work ethic combined with money can win.
My type of Investor1. Invests long term.
2. Invests and steps away.
3. Makes iterate investments.
4. Recognizes the drive of an entrepreneur is more valuable than collaborative chaos.
5. Understands the notion of vision and negotiates clearly.
6. Recognizes that the entrepreneur is also motivated by money.
7. Knows an entrepreneur will step away when real maturation of product is accomplished.
8. Knows that entrepreneurs watching their concept grow is the greatest accomplishment.
9. An investor that is not a control freak

Centerfold pic must be amazing , can be a person, an action, news, up and coming model, musician.nature.sports.whatever ,you decide we are buying! Your photographer signature and contact info should be included
Here is more on why. Here is a tweet that was sent at me from an economist after I stated that, since the inception of Facebook, the economy collapsed! ...."From: RT @thejohnbrian @mark_nejmeh Part of me sees a direct correlation: size of FB valuation and degree of Econ entropy/uncertainty."
I also have stated that since the Ipod, crime has decreased. Hmmm, I suppose we are really evaluating creative job- destruction just by sniffing around each other right now seeing if we can work together.
Let me just say ," if we are to rebuild jobs and job creation we must maintain journalistic integrity". May the information flow , may the creativity regenerate from your wisdom.
Ok enough with the philosophy. We started Nujobi because we want to re-invent Journalism because journalism effects job creation. No info, no knowledge , no imagination , no "Slum dog millionaires".
We have presented at enough start-up events to know that most venture capitalists believe that it is over for the old model of journalism. The journalist should be rewarded with followers not pay. Bing Bong we disagree.

In News We Must Trust ... Data
The crisis in data gathering and privacy is here but like using your mind to figure a puzzle it can be useful too.Feb. 4, 2012 , New York, NY,Columbia School of Journalism , At an open program called "liberate the data", The Columbia School of Journalism opened its doors to journalists and data geeks. The Journalism Data Derby was held in one of the lecture halls.approximately 50 people attended. The video on our blog today shows one of the presentations from the crime group. There were 6-7 groups formed that took tasks on in Science, finance, crime, etc., Nujobi attended to observe and learn about the power of data collection and the newest trends in reporting from that data.
Since much of Law enforcement has historically relied on the investigative research of journlalists in the past and the fact that there is data on pretty much on everyone, since FaceBook google, linkedin ,and other social media engines collect every key stroke and track your every move on the internet. We thought we better get the story before the story gets us.
The process we observed while at Columbia was scraping, (taking data from html that was published on the internet), taking scanned physical documents and scanning them in and scraping data from those documents. Many merges of different forms of data were categorized and organized into what each team felt was a logical format. Interestingly data joined together could ever be complete particularly from event driven cases. It certainly seems that journalism has moved more towards legal procedure and presentation....
Data can reveal so much and is important in News, in a court of law, . Lets take a look at some typical data you can mine for information about crime.

Anthony Shadid, Nujobi's inspiration
Brunch this past Sunday was shared with a young female Reuters journalist from Egypt. Her stay in America is to gain education and to attract funding for her non-profit journalism organization. The non-profit is to serve as a training source for Egyptians desiring to learn journalism and to function as a News source from Egypt. We discussed the impact of the MONEY SUPPORT (non-profit versus market driven models)on the News and the idealogical differences relative to how the News should be reported. My goal was to recruit her as a potential founding journalist for Nujobi.com, Nujobi is marketplace for journalistic News and professional feature content. My intent was to convince her that journalists must be compensated by a free market system. She did not quite agree as it seems that big promises have been made to her from sources like ProPublica.org a non-profit investigative journalism organization.
Yesterday the world lost a superb Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Anthony Shadid. A journalist that took the risk of reporting and digging for the truth. He was a Lebanese American, Christian, a native of Oklahoma City, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Shadid studied journalism and political science with Arabic language courses. He reported from most of the Middle East and the mystery of violence in the Islamic World. It seemed he was curious and aware at the same time
He was shot once while on assignment and kidnapped in Lybia just last year. He died from an asthma attack as reported by News sources. His books were controversial and may become the beginning ground laid to find a path to peace. His books will most likely now be studied much closer.
He worked for a number of free market publications like The New York Times, Boston Globe, and The Washington Post. His audience was able to get a view , his view, no agenda. He made a living as a reporter. He was paid to tell the story. he told it only after he paused and evaluated what he witnessed, in order to be accurate.
This is the type of journalist that the world needs and what the purpose of the Nujobi.com marketplace is. Nujobi.com will stay the course to enable more journalists to make a living from bringing the truth to the world. Even as the old model of journalism remains under pressure
Anthony Shadid returned to Lebanon to rebuild a home built by his Grandfather. House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East

Huffington Post could but Nujobi will better
Well let's just say reading about Arianna Huffington and her new streaming News show gave Nujobi a kick in the pants and at the same time a reason to continue on. We have been team building thus far, recently our meetings with seasoned digital space journalist and media veteran, had just dropped off as we were seeking to find someone that could be a CEO. We have been on the hunt, and still are, to find someone that is strong enough to tackle management of a company that serves Real News with no agenda. , the hunt continues. The past 4 days have been trying as we step up the search. We have heard it all including pitches from people in and outside the media world. Nujobi can work and will be very profitable.
We know that our direction and secret sauce are quite potent. Get people to report the News, give them a competitive marketplace to sell their content, and buy the best material to broadcast. Nujobi will be a media force in a short time. Arianna thinks the comments are the key and Nujobi believes in depth vetted reporting from a marketplace is better Real NEWS. Our technology offers a ripe opportunity to all those journalists and community news witnesses to tell the world the truth and get paid. That may be the major difference between what Huffington is doing and what Nujobi is doing. Besides we have no agenda except report the news of value and the real value is there, that's why the reporter was paid. The news beyond the streets, under the street, and the drama that has always moved humanity.
You see that is our goal and that is how Nujobi will truly profit. While we link Journalists and Publishers together we also have the the opportunity to get at the best News first at a fair price in our own marketplace.
The business of media is about influence from trust. The money is earned by proving the power of trust and loaning it out for fee.
Thank Goodness we spent the time and money filing for a patent on this process. Now all we need are the investors. Nujobi is seeking seed capital..Nujobi.com We can be profitable within a year.
The free app on the Android and the Iphone that gets the News to The market instantly

Walter Cronkite as a test tube baby? Disruptive tech!
If only Walter Cronkite could read the News again, would you believe it?
Oh sorry, Walter is not with the Huffington Post so why would you? After all he actually was paid money to be a journalist. Call us @Nujobi naive but there was something of great value in a person you can trust that delivered the News so many years ago. The audiences of past wanted to trust someone in the middle of the disruptive decade of the 60's.
[[Nujobi is a media company focused on sydicating content to the new content engines such as Netflix. Nujobi operates a News and content marketplace connecting content creators and publishers efficiently. We build technology that deploys new and traditional publishers to the tablet and future digital screens. All content gets a fair opportunity in a fair marketplace that weighs the best value for both sides of media buying equation. Our technology and serviced media publishers generate advertising revenue and our customer generated content becomes more valuable as we serve more sides of the media distribution paradigm.]]
So I guess that is why Nujobi.com was created to be disruptive in a disruptive time. We think that people are hungry for trust and not very different today. Call Nujobi.com a test tube marketplace for journalists and the next trusted sources, we believe there may be many. We also believe that the "human" objective computer is best to deliver the News, after all you cannot teach compassion or passion to a computer. We also recognize that the traditional News business has been in decline for a long time. Uncompensated reporting or algorithmic reporting represent the value of their cost.
Writing on this subject today is particularly important. I encountered four very important bits of information that knocked me over and should knock everyone over that is concerned for humanity today.
First I had the opportunity to see a very interesting description of a start-up in the News space.
Narrative Science transforms data into stories and insights. Our proprietary artificial intelligence authoring system, Narrwhal, produces reports, articles, and summaries that are automatically created from structured data sources. Narratives are created in multiple formats, including long-form articles, headlines, Tweets and business reports helping customers save time and money by combatting data overload, time constraints, cost restrictions and scale issues.
Second, I attended a start-up breakfast in Brooklyn, NY this morning. I asked a few simple questions regarding "What value do current start-ups bring to society" and was meet with some very angry defensive comments. Past experience has shown that when people become so angered over a question there usually is something to hide.
Third I had the privilege of spending some time with the head of compliance at one of the trading markets whom happened to be visiting NYC. They expressed to me their concern that corruption in the markets was so deep and was strategically not reported by the media their only commentary was, "Lets just hope that God can step in".
Modus tollens .......Modus vivendi ???

Building a Team without a Mirror
Send your resume to Mark@nujobi.com Be sure to download our app "NUJOBI" and "NewsHotBox" IOS and Android. Nujobi is a marketplace for original content and a media company buying content, register on www.nujobi.com and try it before applying for this FOUNDER EQUITY positionFor one they have not found a team yet to be a part of, so they find your opportunity exciting and hopeful. They have not been given the opportunity to shine prior and they believe me when I tell them sincerely that I see something in them. Third they have more skill and ambition than I could ever have, I just happen to see the greatness in people.
So Nujobi.com, (a not so successful yet company), is looking for these types of people. In my past businesses I can say that the people that have passed through have accomplished a great deal including being honored by the United Nations. Most others just went on to run businesses that mirrored what I taught them regarding delivering quality and performing cost effectively. I am lucky to have worked with so many people that have gone on to achieve so much. Management and the time of the moment means a great deal to your character. I think running a company is a character builder. You build your own character and you transfer some bits of your character to the people that are counting on you. More about nujobi.com
When I am looking to work with people, as I am now. I first look for the desire ,second the need to work, and third the vision in their eyes. For years I was in the mirror when hiring, looking for the "just like me" people, but then I took a look at the data. Every person that had impacted my bottom line was nothing like me. They were the hero's that made decisions despite of my direction. They stood up to me when I was wrong and they stood with me when I was right. This all took patience and tongue biting and time, but the trust you build lasts a lifetime. Right now I want the same thing. I want people smarter than me and different from me. I need people that see beyond the "Yes I share your vision". nujobi.com
Here is a list of a non-list
1.Sincerity
2.Seeking a unique opportunity
3.Brilliance and vision.
4.Available
5.Focused
6.Self motivated
7.Their own values in order, whatever they might be, their business, but some values
8.People that do not participate in power struggles, people innately independent
9.People that can follow the leader and grab an arm to caution the road ahead
10.Honestly imperfect
I have had people work for me that have become a Catholic Priest, a corruption fighting Mayor in Slovakia , three major public sector contractors, owner of a mortgage company, 2 international film stars, etc. I had nothing to do with what they became but I certainly gained by employing them. Of 500 plus employees over 30 years 500+ taught me everything I know and they are my motivation.

Nujobi a "Pleasant Habitat for Success"
While I ready for the next blog entry enjoy this chicken dance from Arrested Development.
AD has inspired me far beyond just laughter. The way AD communicates with so much witty inuendo, the way the writing is put together and the goal it accomplishes is amazing. For Nujobi I believe it is an epiphany and a path to understanding how to deliver information and how to deliver the news. Arrested Development takes you away but also brings you its message clearly.
Nujobi won't be doing any comedy, but in terms of company and customer service culture, I believe Nujobi should strive to be a Pleasant habitat for success. To do this we need to send people home with more than a smirk or a plan to exit the company in the future. We need to let people share our goals and grow the Nujobi business with their creativity. We will not arrest anyones development and we will smile at the results. Whether it is a publisher, producer, an editor, or a journalist selling content, we will try to get them to success in a pleasant way.

Smart enough and dumb enough!
Smart Enough, Yes I am "SMART ENOUGH" now to have been looking for a CEO and I think maybe I have one lined up. If not this person then I have a few more ideas of who might fit. The main criteria I am looking for in a CEO is great leadership, capable of handling the big picture, the politics, strength in character, honesty, blah blah, and a Great Presenter.
<\p>
I think I found a great CEO and in fact a great person with deep concern for doing right for this great company (Nujobi). Time will tell, but one thing for sure I will not be making many more 5 minute pitches unless I really have to.
I like employees that get the job done including when I am the employee. Think of it this way, I would rather write the song than perform it.

So You Married An Entrepreneur | Charles Lee
Amazing article of truth on marriage, entrepreneur habits and security and oh yeah that goes for employees too. Employees expect a leader and security, much like a wife. They beg for stability and most entrepreneurs cannot give that to them in the beginning without funding. I as an entrepreneur am here to change the world and if that means being alone well then unfortunately, so be it. I have been divorced for 13 years now and it has been a struggle. Try building a house, paying for kids, and being a great Dad all while spending mega dollars on new technology and in the Patent office. Not too easy. Don't think I cannot love because I can, I love my kids,I would love someone, I love myself and my vision, and I love the fight to the top. I have learned enough about life to "let life take me and not try to take life" Many Thanks to the author for writing this article.
Many start-ups are a collection of a group of friends, all unmarried, no kids, and they party in the office. That is clearly not what Nujobi.com is like now nor will it be as we grow,so if you ever come to work at Nujobi.com leave your nerf ball and gymnastics at home. Most of all finish your work and go enjoy your family.

Learning from pitch night at Ultralight Start-upsLast evening I had the privilege of seeing the heart and soul of some great entrepreneurs. I went to a pitch event hosted by Graham Lawlor at the Microsoft building at 1260 6th ave, New York, NY The companies that presented won't be mentioned but I can tell you I definitely learned from all of them. Yes, I really did , right here on this self entrepreurial therapy, called a blog just say that I LEARNED SOMETHING. It is like an awakening to not have my usual know it all , arrogant attitude. I am free! I think there is a curse when at a very young age you can conquer all and have money gushing from your ears. The first thing you learn when you make it to the top is that there really isn't much at the top if you are there alone. Isolation after success can really drain your soul. I think that is why VC's insist on a team to forge ahead. No one person can do it alone , at least not building a company that will last a very long time.

News happens where you are.
Why Nujobi is a great service and how you can DO IT!My God there is news everywhere. How many times do you see the same thing over and over again? But it does not have to be that way. How many of you do not want to watch the news?

Tunnel vision at Nujobi.com
TUNNEL VISION is Good
RULE ONE: when you have a start-up , listen to your gut regarding your business model.
We just got (REJECTED) turned down by former CEO of CDNOW, Mike Krupit GM, of Novotorium Langhorne, PA
They are an incubator that helps start-ups get started.
But we got some cool advice from someone that has been there.. Here is what they said
Mark,
Thanks again for applying to Novotorium.
The team reviewed your application this morning. We appreciate the video content and your vlogs on YouTube to help inform us and support your application. We know a lot of sweat has been put into Nujobi.com and your desire to bring it further into market.
At this time, however, Novotorium is not positioned to help and we cannot accept your company.
We like the concepts of grassroots and crowd-sourced journalism. I even had once co-founded a company in a similar space, but that failed to get as far as yours perhaps because we were too early. That being said, advertising-based business models are extraordinarily difficult to grow organically. I am sure you are feeling that pain. Novotorium's focus on is products and services that we feel can grow without large up-front investments. Give Nujobi's market and model, Novotorium is not positioned well to help.
I wish you the best of luck in moving Nujobi.com forward and will keep you in mind if there is ever a way for us to help.
Best regards,
Mike Krupit
We know rejection is part of being a visionary, if others could see what we can, we have no edge.

NYC and NUJOBI
One thing for sure people definitely want a voice , hence the massive success of Twitter. Twitter is the newest example of people looking to the internet to get a little control back into their lives.
After another Sunday of NFL football where a majority of men and women find the necesary distractions to continue on in their lives and suffocate stress with joining the team, drinking, betting, and eating. Most people are definitely set for the week ahead.
This Monday will be a big celebration for The Big Blue in NYC since they won their game yesterday. Few people on the streets realize the potential for major disruption to their lives that is likely to come from the collapse of the Euro and or Dollar. As a matter of fact most Americans feel isolated , as they should, until the problems directly affect them and their family. More and more people are taking the approach of complacency going through the motions at work just trying to get through another day and back to their homes , their food, their drink, and hay just a few more days till another playoff game.
At Nujobi I see it differently, I see and feel something coming, It's not good. Venture capitalists are now viewing mental illness as the next big arena for profit, and no wonder. As exemplified by the following email I received from Sramana Mitra sramana@sramanamitra.com
Here are a few lines that was recently in an email sent to me by this venture capital opportunist. The intellectuals have taken over the world so look out!
"In my 15+ years in Silicon Valley, I have observed the evolution of few $100B+ market opportunities. Today, I am going to draw your attention to one that could be exactly what the doctor ordered for the stagnating economies of US and Europe.
There has always been a stigma around mental illness. Yet, 10 percent of the U.S. population is mentally ill. And if you extrapolate from that number, it is conceivable that worldwide, 700 million people are mentally ill."
So what does this have to do with Nujobi
Nujobi.com , the website and the app for Android and for Iphone are intended to be proactive tools not reactive tools to avoid further decay of journalism and further development of mental illness Yes I am saying that "work is a cure" to mental illness. The main difference between Twitter and Nujobi is that you really have to WORK to put together good salable content. Twitter is great for the simple "I said It" but Nujobi is great for "I worked hard for it , here it is, good content, pay me!"
I hope we are on the right track. I will be working NYC to do some journalism work and also to build some traction by meeting with potential partners, and journalists. Nujobi is a Job Creator and I think teaching people how to use the software is my job.
Thanks,
Mark Nejmeh

Cold Sweats in the niteI don't think its abnormal to question yourself on what you are doing especially when living on eggs and toast three meals a day. The nights seem so much more logical. I am under pressure because we have a variety of responsibility to deal with . Mainly trying to figure out how to get some traction. How to make this a viral technology that people can earn money with. That is our challenge and that is why I could not sleep.
Nothing that listening to Dean Martin on the Ipod can't solve. I almost said Walkman Haha

"The supporting Algorithm and potential for licensing"
When I set out to create a marketplace for content that would be effective I knew that it would have to take into consideration all market forces. Many years ago I was a large purchaser of industrial products so I had a fairly firm understanding of the many pitfalls of most marketplaces that were operated by humans. The first thing I knew way back in 1992 was that an auction would bring greater efficiency to most markets. In 1993 , I created auctionquest.com , a broadcasting marketplace. I was never able to attract investment for my company and I was basically forced to go back to construction after a short stint as a CTO for a Monsey, NY firm trying to bring medical billing and coding to the internet. There I developed the concept for the "anonymous medical record" . Shortly afterwards my pay($170,000 per year) was cut in half and I was terminated on my Fortieth birthday.
Unable to face my beautiful wife, (now my ex-wife), that at this point hated my guts for being a risk taker, I drove to Palisades Park, NJ and stood on the street with illegal aliens and took day work in construction. There would be 200 of us and we would get free lunch and $75 for the day. In a short time business owners shocked at my building talents and how the workers trusted and were learning from me began approaching me trying to speak in broken Spanish. They were shocked to learn that I have built much more than they ever had and could build technology also. I think they were most shocked that I also spoke English. In short order, they found it appropriate to send me on my way. Not by my choice I was back as a contractor within three weeks fully booked with work. Just about every person I stood on the street with wanted to work with me.
I learned something important about markets during that time and value. That experience was part of my education and enabled me to implement this algorithm, the Nujobi Algorithm.

On the technical side of the business, Jie is working on adjusting our tablet publishing functions. We want to have more control on who can publish. Our goal is great quality publications while still providing low cost start-up to committed publishers. If you have been to the site you will see that we are still in beta. I can't really move away from that until I feel it is really a viable technology. The only thing we need right now is a small investor so we can survive.
I am pumping up the volume and I plan to communicate our struggles daily.
