Learning from pitch night at Ultralight Start-ups
Last evening I had the privilege of seeing the heart and soul of some great entrepreneurs. I went to a pitch event hosted by Graham Lawlor at the Microsoft building at 1260 6th ave, New York, NY The companies that presented won't be mentioned but I can tell you I definitely learned from all of them. Yes, I really did , right here on this self entrepreurial therapy, called a blog just say that I LEARNED SOMETHING. It is like an awakening to not have my usual know it all , arrogant attitude. I am free! I think there is a curse when at a very young age you can conquer all and have money gushing from your ears. The first thing you learn when you make it to the top is that there really isn't much at the top if you are there alone. Isolation after success can really drain your soul. I think that is why VC's insist on a team to forge ahead. No one person can do it alone , at least not building a company that will last a very long time.
