Tunnel vision at Nujobi.com

TUNNEL VISION is Good

RULE ONE: when you have a start-up , listen to your gut regarding your business model.
We just got (REJECTED) turned down by former CEO of CDNOW, Mike Krupit GM, of Novotorium Langhorne, PA
They are an incubator that helps start-ups get started.
But we got some cool advice from someone that has been there.. Here is what they said

Mark,
Thanks again for applying to Novotorium.
The team reviewed your application this morning. We appreciate the video content and your vlogs on YouTube to help inform us and support your application. We know a lot of sweat has been put into Nujobi.com and your desire to bring it further into market.
At this time, however, Novotorium is not positioned to help and we cannot accept your company.
We like the concepts of grassroots and crowd-sourced journalism. I even had once co-founded a company in a similar space, but that failed to get as far as yours perhaps because we were too early. That being said, advertising-based business models are extraordinarily difficult to grow organically. I am sure you are feeling that pain. Novotorium's focus on is products and services that we feel can grow without large up-front investments. Give Nujobi's market and model, Novotorium is not positioned well to help.
I wish you the best of luck in moving Nujobi.com forward and will keep you in mind if there is ever a way for us to help.
Best regards,
Mike Krupit

We know rejection is part of being a visionary, if others could see what we can, we have no edge.

  1. I was intrigued by the concept of posting my journalism via this medium, but in two days of trying, I wasn't even able to sign on.

Not only that, but I got some truly bizarre emails in response to this guy Mark, who I wrongly assumed was just a troll engaged to do the IT chores. So that makes it even more amazing that I would get into a battle of wills slash trial by ordeal with this guy.

I tried to get across the idea that even if you're a wacky creative person slash crackpot, it's in your interest to make the thing work if you want to build any value.

In fairness (and why be fair to someone like this?), the site is labeled Beta, but if someone who visits can't even sign in, it defeats the purpose. Any potential investors would be well advised to beware.
